On behalf of the 120 members of the Rocky Mountain Bison Association (RMBA), the RMBA Board of Directors issued the included resolution concerning wolf introduction in Colorado.
RMBA represents the bison ranchers, producers, and marketers located in Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, and Utah. RMBA’s mission is to promote and preserve bison through education, research, and marketing.
RMBA supports the delisting of wolf species from the Endangered Species Act to allow for the proper management of wolves at the state and local levels. We hope that all future wolf management planning that includes the introduction or reintroduction of wolves also include provisions for funding to offset the negative impacts of wolves on livestock – including bison – ranch working dogs, wildlife management, hunting and other adversely affected sectors of the local economies.
Sincerely,
John Graves, RMBA President
